YCCMD - live band la The Pub Universitatii

Sepultura co-founder and Cavalera drummer Iggor Cavalera comes to Control on October 27 with a live set of modular electronics, drones and drums.
With Mixhell, the electronic duo he formed with Laima Leyton, he has performed at festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival and Reading. In 2016, he joined Soulwax, recording drums for From Deewee and touring with Transient Program for Drums and Machinery. He later founded Petbrick with Wayne Adams, setting his drumming against distorted electronics and industrial noise.
In 2017, Iggor began equipping a studio with Leyton, adding modular synthesizers around 2019 to develop his own drone compositions. Onstage, he leaves room for improvisation and accidents.
“The aggression is still there, but it’s transformed. It’s less about speed or power, and more about depth and intention,” he told Polyend earlier this year.
His recent collaboration with Merzbow and Eraldo Bernocchi, Nocturnal Rainforest, transforms rainforest recordings into dense electronic noise. “Present to be Absent”, his contribution to the noise compilation Prosthetic Reality, offers another nearly eleven-minute encounter with his solo work.
The Ghost of 3.13 opens, placing ambient passages against the fractured rhythms of IDM and breakcore, with Ben Frost and Aphex Twin among his influences.
Expect everything.
