Mari pictori pe ecran is a series of films based on art exhibitions of some of the most famous painters in history, accompanied by contextual insights from renowned historians and art critics. Directed by Phil Grabsky, this art documentary from the UK (2019) lasts 1 hour and 31 minutes. The film explores Pablo Picasso’s early life, highlighting his childhood and formative years that led to his extraordinary achievements, as well as his influences from the cities of Malaga, Barcelona, and Paris, with a focus on key works from his early period. As it closely examines the Blue Period and the Rose Period, the film leads up to 1907, the year of the creation of the fundamental painting in art history: Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, which shocked the art world and changed it irreversibly.
